Why we built this

Too many online health calculators use outdated formulas, bury results behind sign-up walls, or surround sensitive health information with intrusive ads. We wanted to do better.

HealthyBMICheck.com is an independent project. We’re not affiliated with any hospital, pharmaceutical company, supplement brand, or health insurer. We have no financial interest in the results our calculators produce — only in making them as accurate and useful as possible.

Every tool on this site uses a formula from peer-reviewed research or established clinical guidelines. We cite our sources, explain the limitations, and tell you what to do with your result.

Who's behind this site

HealthyBMICheck.com is built and maintained by a single founder — not a clinical team. Every calculator and article is based directly on formulas and guidelines published by WHO, CDC, and NIH, cited throughout the site, rather than on personal medical expertise. This site is for general information only; always check with a qualified healthcare professional for advice specific to you.

How content is put together
1
Every claim is sourced directly to WHO, CDC, NIH, or published clinical guidelines — linked where relevant
2
Calculator formulas are verified against the original published research (Mifflin-St Jeor, Devine, Katch-McArdle, etc.)
3
Pages are revisited and updated when the underlying guidelines change — each page shows its last-updated date
4
A medical disclaimer appears on every page; nothing here is personalised medical advice
Our sources include

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

We use validated peer-reviewed formulas standard in clinical settings. Results are population-level estimates — individual variation of ±10–15% is normal. Use results as a starting point and adjust based on real-world feedback over 2–3 weeks.

The standard WHO BMI thresholds were derived from European population data. Adults of Asian descent develop metabolic health risks at lower BMI values. The WHO recommends a lower overweight threshold of BMI ≥23 for Asian adults. Our Asian BMI Calculator applies these thresholds.
